For this kitchen remodel, Shalimar, Florida homeowners wanted a completely different and modern look. The kitchen cabinets were made from solid wood and in great condition, meaning cabinet refacing was the perfect solution for them. There were a few minor modifications to the layout, however the layout stayed roughly the same. The transformation began with a shaker painted door in a supermatte midnight color. The team also added some opaque glass inserts in the upper cabinets around the sink to break up the darkness of the cabinets and add more detail to the kitchen.

To open up the kitchen more, the team removed the L-shaped lower cabinets and column to create more space directly into the dining room. They removed the cabinets around the kitchen island area and extended the countertops to create more seating and a bar area. The look was complete with a brick tile backsplash, charcoal grey grout, and a quartzite countertop. A patterned backsplash was added to the bar area for more detail. Under-cabinet lighting makes this kitchen shine and really highlights the modern, sleek look of the dark cabinetry. The homeonwers can now appreciate a more open and functional space as well as a kitchen that fits their style.
