Kitchen of the Month Winner for New Cabinets for January

Kitchen Inspiration

This kitchen started off as a closed in space that didn’t allow a homeowner who loves to cook to fully utilize their kitchen. When the Kitchen Solvers of La Crosse’s design expert met with the homeowners, he realized the remodel would hinge on the necessity to open up the space and make room for a commercial-style range/griddle and vent hood. With that in mind, there was a small laundry room located next to the existing kitchen. Removing the wall here would allow the homeowners to have a lot of additional space for a wet bar and large island.

After the design was created and approved, the team got started on demolition. The new hickory cabinets were chosen out of the Kitchen Solvers Classic Collection and stained in the koala color. The homeowners chose laminate countertops, which allowed them to focus their budget on the cabinetry and the industrial-sized appliances. Of course, someone who loves to cook has many pots and pans and cooking utensils. Therefore, the team also incorporated functional storage solutions like a spice rack, garbage pull-out, and a lazy susan for easy access to necessary cooking supplies.

The homeowners also wanted a dining space to enjoy the delicious meals together. To maximize prep space, the island and dining table were combined in a unique layout. The new look was finished off with a new laminate countertop done in winter carnival. A baja cream travertine backsplash with random glass/travertine mosaic accent strip and simple shaker crown molding were also applied. This traditional kitchen is now a dream space for the homeowners to not only perfect their cooking skills, but to also enjoy meals as a family.
