Kitchen of the Month Winner for Cabinet Refacing for February
Kitchen Transformation
When homeowners in Maumee, Ohio contacted our team to help them lighten up their kitchen and get rid of the ceramic tile countertops and backsplash, we met to discuss the details. After reviewing the existing kitchen cabinets, we knew we could make a dramatic transformation with cabinet refacing. The existing cabinets were in functional condition, but needed a refresh to match the homeowners’ style. They wanted to do a modern farmhouse/contemporary style and were able to find the perfect solution in our Kitchen Solvers Classic Collection. We took the countertop on their peninsula down from a two tier to one level and installed a decorative panel on the back side. Then we modified the sink base to accept a large fire clay farmhouse style sink. After that, we removed the glass cabinets above the sink and installed floating shelves. The homeowner also wanted to hide the microwave, so we removed the existing cabinet and installed a deep appliance garage cabinet which houses the microwave. 
Then we were able to reface all of the existing cabinets using the Kitchen Solvers Classic Collection Seamless Shaker door style in both a painted snow finish for the upper cabinets and Naval painted finish on the lower cabinets. This duo-toned look brightened up the kitchen and gave it a completely new look and style. New ENVI Statuario Flora quartz countertops were installed over most of the base cabinets, but to mix it up, we also installed a butcher block countertop over the desk and a wood countertop painted in matching Naval paint with a glass top over it to protect it on the hutch base cabinet. To finish the look, we installed a light blue glass subway tile backsplash around most of the perimeter of the kitchen and a hex-shaped glass tile running up the wall behind the sink area. Under cabinet lighting was installed to highlight the tile and lighten up the countertops. This kitchen is a perfect example of how cabinet refacing can completely transform your space into a whole new style. Unique requests, like hiding the microwave, or having a desk space that is functional, are all things we can work into a final design. The homeowners are ecstatic with their finished space!
