Columbus, Ohio homeowners contacted Kitchen Solvers of Columbus for a kitchen refresh. The existing kitchen was in great condition, but it was not the transitional style the homeowners loved. They wanted richer, darker cabinets and additional storage space. Another request was extended cabinets with glass doors above the existing upper cabinets. This would allow them to display some of their personality and switch it out with the seasons or changing styles. After meeting with the homeowners, understanding the style they were going for, and recognizing their needs, the team came up with a cabinet refacing project that would completely transform the space.

To begin, the cabinets were prepared by removing the doors. Custom cabinet boxes were created to fill in the space above the upper cabinets and add some storage near the refrigerator. The homeowners already enjoyed their existing backsplash and the project was planned to coordinate well with it. The cabinets were refaced, new doors were added, and panels were added to the kitchen island to create a more consistent and clean design. An accent wall was added behind the stove and range to create a little dimension. A wine refrigerator was also added and the team started to install the new Edgewater-style maple doors stained in a midnight color. Glass doors were also incorporated in the new upper cabinet space so that the homeowners could display their favorite accents. Lighting was added to dress up the space and a Cambria Quartz countertop was installed to complete the look. The homeowners are now enjoying a kitchen that is both functional and the style they had always envisioned!
