Kitchen of the Month Winner for New Cabinets for February
Kitchen Inspiration
This Avon Lake homeowner was tired of their dimly lit, outdated kitchen that lacked practical storage. Half of the kitchen was an addition to the original home which created uneven flooring and awkward gaps in the cabinetry. Kitchen Solvers of Greater Cleveland was able to help them create the kitchen of their dreams that solved all their problems. Kitchen Solvers removed all the existing cabinets to give themselves a clean slate to work with. They installed all new birch cabinetry in a Catalina door style in a dark Espresso color. They extended the cabinets all the way to the ceiling to add extra storage space and to give the kitchen the height it needed. They also installed a large pantry in the area that used to be the kitchen desk—a dated feature you see in older kitchens. For even more storage, they added in a new island in a polar white color that contrasts the espresso perimeter cabinets perfectly.
For the countertop, the homeowner chose a beautiful Alaska White granite and paired it with a ceramic subway tile—adding the glass accent on the backsplash gave it a unique look and ties all the colors together in the kitchen. To address the overall dark feel of the kitchen, new light fixtures, recessed lighting, and underlit cabinets were all added. The light Euro Plant luxury vinyl tile flooring gives the kitchen a light airy feel as well. Finally, the homeowner has a space that doesn’t feel like a dungeon and functions better for their needs—a dream come true!
